NYTimes Pitchbot: Opinion | I was a lifelong liberal Democrat. Then Lenny Dykstra hit on Lauren Boebert on Twitter.
Last week, professional provocatuer and former Major Leage Baseball center fielder Lenny Dykstra tweeted the following, not realizing apparently that the Congresswoman was married. That said, pretty damn bold of him to do.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I am sorry about your loss in the election, <a href="https://twitter.com/laurenboebert?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@laurenboebert</a>. Who knows what funny business was going on!?Anyhow, I know this must be a difficult time, and just keep in mind that you have someone right here to talk to (or whatever other kind of needs you may have right now). DM me?</p>— Lenny Dykstra (@LennyDykstra) <a href="https://twitter.com/LennyDykstra/status/1590407856435576832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 9, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
To the credit of conservatives, they are more likely to take risks, even if it causes embarrassment. As a liberal, I am both impressed and disgusted by this level of cat-calling. This is generally something I abhor. But as a human, this is nothing short of impressive. Dykstra once again shows that he has more guts than many of us, except for those serving in the armed forces.
At first I didnt think I was going to be able to parody this because Lenny Dykstra blocked me on Twitter. Oh well.
